200 New public buses for Lahore’s roads by PMA

Lahore: The Punjab Mass-transit Authority (PMA) has set a plan to start 200 news buses on feeder routes for the Lahore Metro Bus routes as early as December. The feeder bus service will connect the rest of the city will be connected by the feeder bus service with the distance about 27km of the Metro Bus corridor.

Uzair Shah, PMA Operations General Manager, said that some buses had already arrived in Lahore while others will arrive soon as they were awaiting Customs clearance in Karachi.

“Though the PMA wishes to start the feeder buses by tomorrow, all these formalities would take some time [to complete],” he added.

It is also confirmed by a Daewoo spokesperson and he said that 65 buses had reached Lahore and the remaining buses are waiting for clearance by Customs department.

Initially, 14 feeder routes of Lahore Metro Bus Service will be covered. This project will cover about 123km in the corridor of LMBS initially. Later, more buses would be inducted in a phased manner once Lahore Orange Line Metro Train becomes operational,spokesperson added.

In the start about 200,000 passengers would benefit daily with the figure of 1000 by each bus per day. The authority has plans to run 1,400 standard or minibuses on 104 routes with a route length of 951km.

Metro Feeder Bus services is truly good for peoples who are travelling daily by bus and for every one who will travel the bus in city – however we noticed that without providing a proper bus stand the service will be bad enough. Now-a-days these red buses are lying on very poor condition covering with dust in city railway station old poor bus stand ground in Lahore. I hope I am giving some meaningful information –
