9th Death Anniversary of Benazir Bhutto today
The former prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007 at Rawalpindi in a public gathering. The Government of Sindh has already declared today as public holiday in the province.
The assassination of Benazir Bhutto is still a mystery as final culprits have not been charged and prosecuted. One, Mark Siegel, said once that he had proof of involvement of President Pervez Musharraf in the assassination of former premier.
She left behind Asif Ali Zardari who became the President of Pakistan after the elections of 2008 and two daughters and one son. Her son, Bilawal Bhutto assumed the charge of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party.
Today, to mark the 9th anniversary, the leadership of PPP will be gathering at Ghari Khuda Basksh where the top leaders will speak at 4 pm.
Strict security plan has been prepared to ensure law and order there. More than 6 thousand police personnel, 300 persons from rangers and 700 traffic police officers will perform duty there.
