Lahore: An eminent senior lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir passed away in Lahore on Sunday 11th February, 2018.
According to our private source she was suffering a heart problem last night and shifted to a private hospital for treatment. But she could not revived from the heart problem and passed away. People are expressing their deep grief on the demise of outspoken lawyer.
Cheif Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar, paid tributes to the towering figure and expressed a deep grief on her death.
She was an asset for the lawyer community and on her death whole community is in rich grief.
Asma was born in Lahore in January 1952. After completing her education, she joined the law/judiciary department and provide her marvelous service for its betterment. Her services for the betterment and building of Pakistan shall always be remembered in golden words.
President of Pakistan, politicians, lawyers and journalists have expressed grief over the death of Asma Jahangir. In short everyone has paid tribute and express his/her deep sorrow on the death of Jahangir.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharfi said “Pakistan has lost a passionate champion of human rights and a staunch supporter of democracy”.
