Lahore: The Chief Minister of the Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif distributed Laptops among the students of Information Technology University, Lahore today on 1st October, 2016.


The Chief Minister of the Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited Information Technology University and met with Dr. Umar Saif, Vice Chancellor of ITU. CM Punjab also met with the world class faculty at ITU and was also given a tour of the university, including its state-of-the art facilities.

Dr. Saif presented the progress and innovative research done by the faculty and students, and the Honourable Chief Minister commended Dr. Umar Saif for the wonderful way that he has run the university. The CM was also presented with a plaque in appreciation for his support, enthusiasm, courage and vision to support higher education and the research landscape in Pakistan.

During the visit, the Honourable Chief Minister announced that he was allocating an endowment fund worth Rs. 50 crore for the university. He also distributed laptops among the highest achieving students in ITU under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme.

The Honourable CM Punjab encouraged all the ITU students to move forward with a sense of commitment and purpose.
