The federal government has increased the salaries / pensions as per budget speech document:

  • A 10 percent Ad-hoc relief allowance to civil and armed forces employees with effect from 1 July 2018.
  • A 10 percent increase is also being proposed for pensioners across the board.
  • Housing is a serious problem for government employees in major cities. House rent ceiling is being increased by 50 percent.
  • Similarly, house rent allowance is also being increased by 50 percent.
  • Considering the difficulties of low-paid pensioners, minimum pension is being increased to Rs.10,000 from the present Rs.6,000. Similarly, family pension would also get increased from Rs.4,500 to Rs.7,500.
  • Minimum pension of pensioners above the age of 75 will be Rs.15,000.
  • Overtime allowance of staff car drivers and dispatch riders is being increased from Rs.40 per hour to Rs.80 per hour.
  • The government has also proposed an allocation of Rs.12 billion for provision of advances to government servants for house-building and purchase of transport facility.
  • The government is also setting aside an allocation of Rs.5 billion for Senior Officers Performance Allowance.

The federal minister states that this increase would result in additional burden of Rs.69 billion to the government.

Download Federal Budget 2018-19 Speech (Urdu + English) Fri, 27 Apr 2018 17:22:02 +0000 The federal budget of Pakistan fro he fiscal year 2018-19 has been presented today in the National Assembly of Pakistan on 27 April 2018 by Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs.

The salient features of the budget include salary increase at 10% (ad-hoc relief 2018), 50% increase in house requisition / house rent allowance for both civil and army officials. Pension has also been increased at the same 10% rate. The minimum pension ahs also been increased from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 10,000 and family pension will be now Rs. 7,500.

The government has reduced ta rates for fertilizer sector, coal import, LNG and for agricultural sector. Govt. has allocated handsome amount of 35 billion for development of Karachi.

Salient Features of Pakistan’s Budget 2018-19 Fri, 27 Apr 2018 17:10:17 +0000 The federal budget was presented on 27th April 2018 by Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Dr. Miftah Ismail. The total outlay of budget 2018-19 is estimated at Rs 5,932.5 billion.

The budget session started at 5 pm and the opposition leaders initially walked out and recorded protest while the federal minister was presenting the federal budget 2018-19.

  1. Individuals income exempted upto 12 lacs. A nominal tax of 1,00 rupees will be levied on annual income of 4 lakh to 8 lakh while Rs. 2,000 will be taxed on income of aove than 8 lakh and below 12 lakh.
  2. Tax on individual income from 12 lacs and above will be taxed as per slab which has been decreased.
  3. Data mining introduced for finding new tax payers.
  4. Remittance upto 100 thousand dollars are exempted from any sort of investigations and tax. Any amount above this value could be investigated by tax agencies.
  5. Immovable assets: The government can purchase the immovable property by paying the double the price of value mentioned in registered deed, within six months of the registration.
  6. FBR rate for property valuation stands abolished from 1st July 2018.
  7. Filer tax rate will be 1% against property sale and purchase.
  8. GST exemptions same as per last year.
  9. 5 Sectors under SRO 1125 at 0 rated
  10. Exports refund will be paid within 12 months 1/7/2018
  11. Corporate tax decreased to 25% upto 2023
  12. REIT schemes will have flat 5% income tax rate.
  13. Non Filer bank transactions tax rate reduced to 0.4%
  14. Audit of companies will be allowed once in 3 years.
  15. Super Tax to be decreased by 1% each year to end it up.
  16. AOP slab decrease to 30%
  17. Undistributed profit decrease to 5%
  18. Tax on bonus shares abolished
  19. Dividend tax decrease to 5%
  20. Now with holding on services would be above Rs. 30000/- and on supplies above Rs. 75000/-

Hajj 2018 Ballot held on 1st March 2018 Thu, 01 Mar 2018 19:14:32 +0000 Lahore: The Hajj 2018 balloting was held today by Ministry of Religious Affairs & Inter-Faith Harmony after the ministry was allowed to conduct 50% balloting.

The result of ballot is available at where the applicants can search their status by entering with ‘CNIC No.’ or ‘Hajj Application No.’ to view result of ballot.

The status is mentioned against name of each applicant as Successful or Unsuccessful an those who have not been included in this ballot or mentioned with Pending status.

The remaining portion of Government Hajj quota balloting will be held at later stage. Moreover, those applicants who are unsuccessful in the first phase of ballot will not get another chance.

Ishaq Dar to Contest Senate Elections 2018 Sat, 17 Feb 2018 08:13:05 +0000 Lahore: The High Court has allowed Muslim League (N) leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar to contest Senate elections 2018.

Ishaq Dar had submitted separate papers to Senate General and Technocrat seats, however, the Returning Officer appointed by the Election Commission rejected the nomination papers of Ishaq Dar. The Ex-Finance Minister then approached Lahore High Court who permitted him to contest the Senate Elections.

The lawyer of Mr. Ishaq Dar asserted that all the legal requirements were met by his client to fight the election and the Returning Officer had rejected nomination papers.

The lawyer of the provincial election commission said in a reply that Ishaq Dar’s display of a bank account for two seats is malicious, the papers of candidates who do not provide a copy of the certified identification card are rejected by the nominated candidates. After hearing the arguments of the Lahore High Court, Ishaq Dar allowed the Senate to contest.

he remained in Tv and acting profession for 40 years.

His famous dialogue was “Mujhe Kaam Batao, Main Kya Karun, Main Kis ko Khaaon“. That dialogue is still remembered by those who had watched the television show.

List of International Players Participating in PSL 2018 Season 3 Sat, 17 Feb 2018 06:03:28 +0000 PNP: According to latest news, many of the international players have agreed to playing in Pakistan and will feature in the competition for their sides in the country.

PSB has already announced the schedule of PSL 2018 season 3. According to the announced schedule Three (3) matches will be played in Pakistan.

Pakistan Super League 2018 – PSL Season 3 Sat, 17 Feb 2018 05:34:16 +0000 PNP: Pakistan Super League PSL 2018 season three is going to be started in Dubai on 22nd February. The third edition of the PSL is only few days away.

At this moment the entire country and the rest of the world is holding its breath for another successful season of the PSL 2018. According the schedule of PSL 2018 announced by PCB, total 6 Teams are participating that will play total 34 matches out of which 3 matches will be played in Pakistan. The pattern of these three matches that will be played in Pakistan would be like this;

The final will be held in Karachi while two games during the playoffs will be played in Lahore.

Every team has 19-20 players in their squads during the HBL Pakistan Super League 2018. In this PSL there is an addition of another team named “Multan Sultans” from Multan region. On the 1st of June, PCB announced Multan as the sixth team to take part in the competition.

A seventh team would be included in the PSL after two years based out of FATA, Sialkot or Faisalabad. INSHA’ALLAH!

Lengend of Showbiz, Qazi Wajid, Passes Away in Karachi Sun, 11 Feb 2018 10:49:29 +0000 KARACHI: Renowned showbiz star, TV actor Qazi Wajid passed away in a Karachi hospital today on Sunday 11th February, 2018. He was 87.

Qazi was admitted to hospital after falling in cardiac pain yesterday evening. He was awarded with a Pride of Performance Award in 1988 by the government of Pakistan.

Everyone is saddened at the demise of renowned showbiz star Qazi Wajid & law expert Asma Jahangir. May Allah have mercy on the departed souls.

President of Pakistan, politicians and journalists have expressed grief over the death of Qazi. In short everyone has paid tribute and express his/her deep sorrow on the death of Qazi.

People has shown their love and grief through social media on the demise of Wajid. Both the personalities, Qazi and Jahangir, were important to the nation and no doubt we have lost two legends today.

Asma Jahangir: A Renowned lawyer and activist passes away today Sun, 11 Feb 2018 10:19:23 +0000 Lahore: An eminent senior lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir passed away in Lahore on Sunday 11th February, 2018.

According to our private source she was suffering a heart problem last night and shifted to a private hospital for treatment. But she could not revived from the heart problem and passed away. People are expressing their deep grief on the demise of outspoken lawyer.

Cheif Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar, paid tributes to the towering figure and expressed a deep grief on her death.

She was an asset for the lawyer community and on her death whole community is in rich grief.

Asma was born in Lahore in January 1952. After completing her education, she joined the law/judiciary department and provide her marvelous service for its betterment. Her services for the betterment and building of Pakistan shall always be remembered in golden words.

President of Pakistan, politicians, lawyers and journalists have expressed grief over the death of Asma Jahangir. In short everyone has paid tribute and express his/her deep sorrow on the death of Jahangir.
