Government Bans Pillion Riding (Double Sawari) in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi (25th May, 2019): The Punjab Government has banned pillion riding (double sawari) in Rawalpindi district on account of increasing street crimes in the district. The ban will remain in action from 21st May till 5th June 2019.
Street crimes are allegedly increased in the last week of Ramazan as families go out for shopping and the shopping areas become crowd. Moreover, rush on roads is also increased during these days.
The implementation of ban on pillion riding is one way to curb those snatchers.
As per Daily Business Recorder, the CTO Rawalpindi Muhammad Bin Ashraf said that strict action would be taken against the violators.
The ban will not be considered for children, women and elderly people.
