The federal government has announced public holidays from 4th June till 7th June for Eid-ul-Fitr 2019. The expected date of Eid ul Fitr is 5th June in Pakistan and the government has declared 4-day off for all employees.
Eid ul Fitr is celebrated on 1st Shawal (Islamic Calendar month) as a a day of festivity after a month of fasting. The day is celebrated with a morning prayer.
As majority of federal government organizations remain closed on Saturday, therefore, this 4-day holiday will translate into a long weekend for all the federal employees. However, provincial government employees will have to joint their organizations on Saturday.
The notification of Eil ul Fitr holidays was issued on 28th May from the office of Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.
