Lahore: Free Laptops will be distributed among the talented students of University of Health Sciences, Lahore under PM Youth Scheme being supervised by HEC on 22nd November, 2016.
Students have not received any mail from HEC but they are contacted through their provided contact details by the University Registrar’s Office.
Only the eligible students are receiving call from registrar office, UHS and they are advised to contact the Focal Person as soon as possible to confirm their status.
The university is not awarding the free laptops to those students who have already received the free Laptops under CM or PM Youth Free Laptop Scheme, told by anonymous.
While according to our information the HEC has delivered the laptops according to the full list of eligible students and many of such students who were awarded with free laptops in 2011, 2012 and 2013 are the part of that full list. Now, the question is what will the University do with those Laptops which have been issued in the name of students but they will not be awarded to the students?
I personally think that if the HEC has issued the laptops, the University should also award those laptops to the students. And there are also 3-4 years to go when the students were received their 1st award.
Many of the examples can be found in which the students have been awarded with laptops twice, one through CM Laptop Scheme and another one is now under PM Laptop Scheme.
Besides UHS, free laptops are being distributed by HEC among the selected students of different Universities under phase-II. Along the distribution of laptops under phase-II, HEC has also announced phase-III distribution of Free Laptops under PM Youth Laptop Scheme.
“Registration for Phase-III will be started soon in few days”, said by reporter.
