Iqbal Day: KPK Government announces a public holiday on November 9, 2016
KPK: The chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has
announced a public holiday on 9th November, 2016 in connection with the birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
All the private and public institutions and offices will remains closed on Iqbal day. This is a good step taken by the KPK government to keep remember our national heroes and their scarifies for this country.
On the other hand, other provinces of Pakistan have not announced the public holiday on Iqbal Day 2016 till the date. Federal government has already cancelled this holiday since 2014.
Allama Iqbal presented an ideology of Pakistan and also motivated the Muslims of sub-continent through his poetry. The efforts made by the Iqbal were among the major efforts done for the Pakistan. Due to his sacrifices and great work of poetry, he was entitled with the national hero and national poet of Pakistan.
We celebrate Iqbal Day in the memories of our National Poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal. So, the holiday on Iqbal Day should sustain and it should never be cancelled.
Special Note (8th November, 2016): The Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Govt. of KP has clarified that there is no Public holiday in KPK and all institutions will remain open and work accordingly.
