ISLAMABAD: The branches of 13 designated Banks are receiving applications from 15th January for Hajj 2018 under government Hajj Scheme 2018. While, today 24th January, 2018 is the last day to submit the applications.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the banks have so far received over 300,000 applications under Government Hajj Scheme 2018.
However, over 60,000 applications have been received from Peshawar, Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Likewise, as many as 28,000 applications have been received from Multan,16,000 from Quetta, 15,000 from Faisalabad, and over 11,000 from Sialkot.
Here an important line is that over 18,000 hajj applicants belong to age group of over 70 years.
Total number of seats allocated for Pakistan is 179,210 and as many as 120,000 pilgrims would perform Hajj under Government Hajj Scheme 2018 out of this total in upcoming Hajj. Remaining 59,210 would perform Hajj under Private Hajj Scheme.
The scheduled Banks and their designated branches would continue receiving applications till January 24. Balloting would be held on January 26 at 4:00 PM.
Balloting results will be available soon after balloting and the successful applicants would be informed through SMS on their provided cell number.
