LHC Ordered to Postpone Balloting for Hajj Applications 2018
Lahore: One of the private news channels was reported in its evening news bulletin that Lahore High Court (LHC) has sent order to the Ministry of Religious Affairs to postpone the balloting for the Hajj Applications received under Government Hajj Scheme 2018.
But issue has resolved. Balloting will be held today on 26th Jan except 7% applications under Govt. Hajj Quota 2018.
“LHC has ordered to hold on the balloting for Hajj Applications 2018, ARY News.”
Reason behind this postpone was actually the government quota. An application was submitted by anonymous against the ministry regarding the Government Hajj Scheme quota. It was stated in the application that ministry is doing ballot against more percentage than its original quota. However, according to the latest information balloting will not be held on the same data (26th January, 2018) but the balloting for the objectioned percentage (7%) of applications will be performed after the judiciary decision.

This year the Ministry of Religious Affairs has received a huge amount of applications under Government Hajj Quota Scheme. The number of applications submitted counts to 374,829 under the Government Hajj scheme 2018. This number is not less than any record breaking number.
Out of this total one lac twenty thousand (120,000) applications would be chosen via balloting, that was initially set to be held on 26th of January 2018, but now for the time being it has been postpone until the next orders of LHC.
