LAHORE: Who will wins the seat from NA-122? By-election is underway and the finalist will be announced tonight. Polling was began at 8:00 AM for by-election on the National Assembly’s NA-122 (Lahore) seat on Sunday.
Schedule of voting has been made and polling stations will remain open till 5:00 pm without any break time. The voting process will continue uninterruptedly in all the way.
It is a biggest by-elections in Pakistan’s history that is likely to decide the future course of the country’s politics. By-election is not only the underway in Lahore but it is also going on in Okara against the seats of NA-144 and PP-147.
An important battle is taking place in Lahore agaist the seat of NA-122, traditionally considered the epicentre of the country’s politics. Everyone is looking and have a sight over this seat.
By-elections are being held for National Assembly’s NA-122 and provincial assembly’s PP-147 in the Punjab capital. By-poll for NA-144 Okara are also taking place today.
A close fight is expected between the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in NA-122 led by flamboyant cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan.
Number of total registered voters in the constituency is over 347,762, out of which 190,328 are male and 157,434 female voters.
180 out of total 284 polling stations have declared sensitive. 673 polling both have been set up for male and female voters separately.
Heavy security and good management practices have been made by the Government.
