38 talented students of Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design have been awarded with laptops under Phase II of Prime Minister National laptop Scheme 2016. The laptop distribution ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
The ceremony was attended by Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz, Provincial Minister for Population Welfare, Environment Protection and Higher Education was the chief guest on the occasion. Mr. Nazir Hussain Regional Center HEC, Director General, Prof Hina Tayyaba, Vice Chancellor, PIFD, Prof Shaista Vine Registrar PIFD, Attitque Ahmed, Director Administration PIFD, senior faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
A total number of 143 students of PIFD during 2013, 148 students got their laptops in 2014. The number of qualified students from the Institute are 78 this year from which 38 students were given the laptops in the laptop distribution ceremony. Earlier, the scheme was provincial, however, this year the students are getting the laptops under national laptop scheme, managed by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
The remaining students of PIFD will soon get their laptops in another ceremony.
