Public Holiday Declared in Islamabad on 1st March, 2017

The Federal Government has declared public holiday on 1st March 2017 in the capital of Pakistan. The holiday has been announced due to the ECO Summit being held in Islamabad.

The notification regarding declaration of holiday i the capital states that there will be half holiday (After 1 pm) on 28th February, 2017 and full day holiday on 1st March, 2017 in the revenue territories of Islamabad.

All educational institutes will also remain closed.

Some newspapers have also reported that the residents of Rawalpindi will also enjoy the first day of march as holiday.

The notification No. 1(20)-HC(G)/2017 dated 27th Feb, 2017) was issued by District Magistrate, ICT, Islamabad upon exercising the power conferred by federal Government of Pakistan to him.
