Punjab Food Authority Alerts Flour Mills Owners

The Punjab Food Authority, headed by Noor ul Amin Mengal, has issued a notice alerting the flour mills owners to maintain minimum levels of Folic Acid, Iron, Zinc and Vitamin B12 in the ground flour.

As per notice, it has been asked to maintain 1 ppm of Folic Acid, 15 ppm of NaFeEDTA (Iron), 30 ppm of Zinc Oxide (Zinc) and 0.008 ppm of Vitamin B12.

It has been found that the expecting mothers have deficient iron and folic acid.

The Punjab Food Authority has asked the flour mills to maintain these levels from 15th August, 2017 otherwise strict action will be taken thereafter as per powers conferred in PFA Act 2011.
