Punjab Govt Set a Plan to Cope With Need of Edible Oil
Government of Punjab has devised a plan to promote the cultivation of oil seed crops to fulfill the need of the province in terms of edible oil.
Under the programme, the government has planed to brought over 87,000 acres of land that would be under the cultivation of Sunflower crop.
Major areas that would be engaged in this project are from Gujranwala Division. District Sialkot, Narowal and Hafizabad are the prime targeted areas.
Currently Pakistan is producing about 33 pc of the total required edible oil, while rest of the percentage is being imported.
