SBP to weed out the old currency notes of rupees 10, 50, 100 and 1000
Karachi: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has finally decided to cancel the old currency notes from December 2016. Old currency notes of 10, 50, 100, 1000 will not be legal tender from 1st December 2016.
No sale purchase would be consider legal with Rs. 10, Rs. 50, Rs. 100 and Rs. 1000 after 30th November, 2016.
According to the press release issued by the State Bank of Pakistan, the old Pakistani currency notes will be ceased in the end of November, 2016.
According to the press release the old currency notes of Rs. 10, Rs. 50, Rs. 100 and Rs. 1000 denomination can be exchanged from any nearer branch of any bank, any branch of State bank of Pakistan or ESC Office. But after 30th November, 2016 and from 1st December, 2016 to 31st December, 2021 the ccurrencywould only be exchanged from State Bank of Pakistan and BSC Office. PNP
