Start of Islamic Year 1438: New Visa Fees will go into effect from tomorrow

JEDDAH: The implementation of the new amendments in VISA Policy earlier approved by the Council of Ministers this year will begin from tomorrow on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, the first of Muharram of the new Hijri year 1438 AH.

The cabinet adopted these amendments after reviewing non-oil revenue initiatives submitted by the Ministries of Finance, and Economy and Planning.

The text of the new amendments to be applied starting from Sunday is as follows:

First: The one-time entry visa fee will be SR2,000, but the state will bear this fee if a visitor is coming to the Kingdom for the first time to perform Haj or Umrah.

Second: The multiple exit/re-entry visa fees will be as follows:
• SR3,000 for the six-month visa.
• SR5,000 for the one-year visa.
• SR8,000 for the two-year visa.

Third: Clauses “first” and “second” shall not affect the bilateral agreements concluded between the Kingdom and other countries. Fourth: The transit visa will be SR300.

Fifth: The departure visa fee will be SR50 for those leaving the Kingdom through seaports.

Sixth: The exit/re-entry visa fees will be as follows:
• SR200 for a single trip for two months as maximum, and SR100 for each additional month, within the limits of the duration of the residence permit’s validity.
• SR500 for multiple trips for three months and SR200 for each additional month within the limits of the duration of the residence permit’s validity.

  1. Does this mean first time umrah in the present calender year or first time umrah at any time in life? For instance if i have performed umrah 3 years ago, and want to perform it again now,will it be free for me in the present islamic year or no’?

    1. 1st time ever in life – no visa fee will be charged
      for every next time – SR2000 will be charged as visa fees.

      1. Like is it from 1438 ??? Or from previous all years ?? Like i have performed umrah last year and planned to do this year in sha Allah so di i have to pay 2000ryal???

  2. My parents performed Hajj in 2010 on Hajj visa. And now they have plan to perform Umrah. What will be the Umrah Visa fees for them???
