Lahore: Three students groups have clashed over a cultural event at Punjab University, Lahore on Monday 22 Jan, 2018. The violence triggered at the varsity when a group of students, busy in preparations of Pioneer Festival, came under attack by the rival group.

After sever clash between the groups, police called in to control the situation, official sources told. Clash happened between two nationalists and a religious student group.

One of the groups broken down the university property, vandalized the electrical engineering department of the varsity and set a research lab on fire during the clashes. Many vehicles, parked near the department, have been damaged in this clash.

In Past, same incident has already been occurred on 21st March, 2017 at same university. Many students were injured in that clash too and public university property was also severely damaged.

So, this clash can be relate with the clash happened on 21st March, 2017. University has involved the Punjab Police and situation is under control now.

All university entrance gates have been closed for unauthorized person and students are not allowed to go out from university.
