The Citizen Foundation Collaborates with Kaymu.pk

Recently, Kaymu.pk collaborated with The Citizen Foundation as a part of their Rahbar Program. The E-Commerce giant took part in the 20th Volunteer cycle of the TCF program.

Kaymu is an online marketplace that brings buyers and sellers together. It has a huge presence in Pakistan and offers a wide range of products that include electronics, jewelry, clothes, accessories and so much more, therefore it was considered to be one of the best places to pay a visit for an educational trip.

The Citizen Foundation Collaborates

The TCF Rahbar program is a mentorship program developed by the organization that focuses on developing the youth as accountable and active members of the society. This program has successfully completed many session in many prominent cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Khushab, Dharki, Gujrat, Hyderabad, Quetta, Jhang and Rawalpindi. A number of students from the TCF schools participate in activities that leads to them being better informed, more aware and gain more knowledge.

On the 28th of November, 70 young students belonging to the grades of 8 and 9 from one of the schools of The Citizen Foundation visited the office of Kaymu with their mentors to learn more about the workings in one of the busiest places in Pakistan. The objective of this exercise was to give them the taste of white collar professions and knowledge regarding multiple career options that they can pursue. Moreover, a large amount of emphasis was provided on the educational levels needed to achieve a post in such an environment.

During the course of their trip, a number of things were discussed in detail. A brief description was provided on each department in the organization along with the working style that takes place in them. In addition to this, more light was shed upon how each department can contribute to the overall value chain. The students met with numerous employees and heads in the office to know their regular working day and what they have to face at the times of busy schedules. Many employees shared their educational details and what they had done to achieve the posts that they held.

This Exposure Trip benefitted the students to a great extent as they gained huge insights on the working atmosphere of the emerging E-Commerce industry and what they need to do in order to achieve a position there. The trip was considered to be a success by TCF and Kaymu.
